improving mental health in the workplace

72 million days are lost each year to mental ill-health in the UK, costing employers up to
£56 billion per year.

Honesty is at the heart of improving mental health for all. When we're honest about our mental health struggles — with ourselves and others — we create space for open conversations. These conversations increase knowledge, equip us to better support one another, and reduce stigma, which again, helps people speak more honestly about their health. People are more likely to access help, reducing a decline in health and its possibly heartbreaking consequences.

People need to feel safe to be honest. Whilst fostering open conversations offers compelling benefits to organisations (less absence and staff turnover, better morale and productivity delivers up to a 9:1 ROI), more employers also need to be honest about what they’re really doing to support employee mental health and its impact. Are you providing the psychological safety necessary for people to know they’re going to be supported instead of risking their career?

Mental health is everyone’s business and everyone’s responsibility. Our wellbeing solutions encourage honesty both in and out of the workplace, so let’s get honest, now.
